Beetlejuice! Beetlejuice! Beetlejuice!

October 2, 2020

My whole life is a dark room. One. Big. Dark. Room.

Not really, I’m actually a pretty bright and happy person but if you know me, you would know that I am a HUGE fan of Halloween. Especially, Tim Burton’s movie Beetlejuice. I was inspired two years ago after our yearly viewing of the movie with our kiddos to create a vision of my own. I KNEW that I wanted to build and design an over the top set with over the top costumes and de-cor. So off I went, in search of the perfect vendors to create what was inside my (not so shrunken) head.

First off was the dress. Who doesn’t remember that frilly red monster of a dress from the movie? I knew that I wanted to design my own version of it and ONE HUNDRED yards of tulle and some sequins later she had come to life! Seriously, I must have broken 47 needles off on those sequins.

Then came the giant fireplace prop. Originally it wasn’t intended to be so gargantuous, but this is what happens when I leave for a photoshoot with it half framed and my husband decides to help lol. Honestly, it turned out SO much better than I could have planned!

Next, I needed a venue. When Holly at The Barn at Willowynn suggested we use their venue and I saw that it was all black and whites and stripes I KNEW it had to happen there!

One by one the little details started falling into place and my vision started coming together. This seriously was the most fun sets I’ve ever done and I COULDN’T have done it without all my amazing vendors and models!
